Matthew Linder was born March 28, 1980 in Sacramento, California and now resides in Antelope, CA, a little north of Sacramento. He will be going to Sac State in Fall of 2003 to finish up his BA in Music. Matt has been writing songs ever since he first learned how to read music at age 13. His first instrument was the tenor saxophone and he began playing the bass guitar during his sophomore year in high school. That year he helped form the short lived 9 member ska band, Conceited Gentlemen. Two years after Conceited Gentlemen broke up he was recruited by his Godparent's son, Karl Kobrock, to join Silent Horizon.

Silent Horizon was a mixture of pop-punk, power ballads and alternative music. After three years of shows all over California, two independent releases, two songs in the Christian movie "Gone", connections with up and coming bands, a spot on the Warped Tour and the Christian festival Tomfest they called it quits. However, they have recently reformed with many new songs to Matt's credit. He has also joined Blood Crown, a Christian death metal band influenced by Slipknot, and is currently the music teacher at Merryhill School Calvine in Sacramento, CA
